1. Inspiration
Each custom commission begins with a free 30 minute consultation to explore the client’s vision, aesthetic preferences, and the intended use of the garment.
A moodboard will then be created for you summarising the desired design direction and a quote sent to you for the work involved.
If all parties are happy to proceed a 30% deposit will be requested for work to commence.
2. Design
Through collaborative dialogue, research and developmental sketching, a final design is developed and approved by the client.
Precise full body measurements are taken during an in-person consultation, forming the basis for the garment's structure.
Fabric and trims research begins. Particular attention is paid to the quality, hand feel and drape of the fabric to ensure the materials chosen are the best fit for the design.
3. Development
Your initial pattern is drafted and first toiles are made in calico or a sympathetic fabric.
A fitting is then required to review these shapes. This is the stage where we make adjustments to refine the fit and perfect the design.
Final fabric will need to be selected and organised at this stage, along with any specialised trims.
4. Final Details
The fitting process continues, new toiles will be tried on in fitting 2 where further refinement is actioned.
Additional fittings are sometimes added depending on the level of further work required.
Once all parties are happy, the shape, details, fabric and trims are all agreed, this is called final sign off, any outstanding trims will be ordered.
5. Realisation
Once signed off your final garments will be carefully cut and constructed in our studio.
A combination of RTW and tailoring techniques are used to mould your chosen fabric into the perfect suit.
All pieces are carefully hand finished, with a potential fitting for trouser hemming.
6. Completion
Once completed delivery/collection can be arranged.
A 12 week lead time is normally required depending on the complexity of the commission and current calendar availability. Making anything by hand, curated for an individual takes time and care - faster lead times can be discussed but not guaranteed.
